5 Quick Solutions for Discord No Route Error

Discord’s servers are reliable and stable, and they can accommodate millions of users every day. It is a dependable platform that allows you to effortlessly keep a communication channel with your friends and others.

Despite Discord’s normal dependability, you may have problems connecting to its servers on occasion. When this happens, an RTC Connecting No Route error will appear in the bottom left corner of your Discord window.

This could actually be a problem on your end or with Discord. Fortunately, there are a few remedies you can attempt to go back to speaking with your pals as quickly as possible. Check out this amazing article on Quick Solutions: Discord Screen Share No Audio.

Let’s get going!

Solution 1: Start Discord again.

Your Discord desktop application is experiencing problems connecting to the Discord servers if you notice an RTC connection error.

Restarting the program is the easiest approach to try to re-establish your connection. This simple step is often all that is necessary to resolve the problem.

Try joining a voice channel after reopening the app to check if the same RTC connection error appears.

If this doesn’t work, try any of the following suggestions:

Solution 2: Restart the computer

If restarting Discord fails, the next natural option is to reboot your computer completely. This will clear your online sessions, so any conflicts between Windows and Discord’s servers should be fixed. Check out this article on 10 Solutions: Discord Keeps Disconnecting and Reconnecting.

It’s a good idea to reset your modem/router while your computer is rebooting. This will rule out an issue with your system, or at the very least your internet.

Join a Discord voice channel once your router has been reset and you have an active internet connection. Hopefully, you’ll be able to hear and communicate with other users once more.

Solution 3: Change the voice region.

It’s not unusual for Discord’s servers to cause problems for a voice channel or even a single user. Discord’s servers are typically reliable, although they aren’t without flaws. You may also try changing the voice area if problems emerge. Check out this article on Quick Solution: Discord Not Connecting.

Here’s how to do it (but only if you’re an administrator on the server):

  1. Hover over the problematic voice channels and click the cogwheel.
  2. A Region Override dropdown menu will appear on the Overview tab.
  3. Select any area.
  4. Choose a different region from the one you’re in now (preferably the one closest to your real location).

Tell everyone to come back into the channel to see whether the problem has been repaired.

If you don’t have the capacity to make this change, tell an administrator and request that the voice region be changed instead.

Solution 4: Turn off your VPN

Some individuals have reported having trouble connecting to some Discord servers when using a VPN. It’s unclear why this occurs, however if you’re using a VPN, turning it off may help. Check out this article on Discord Cant Hear Anyone? Quick Solutions.

This isn’t the best solution, but at the very least you’ll know what’s producing the RTC Connecting/No Route issues.

You might try a new VPN service, but be sure your current one supports UDP. If it does, turn it on. Even with your VPN turned on, you should be able to use Discord with confidence.

Solution 5: Allow Discord outgoing connections over Windows Firewall

Any Windows computer’s last line of protection is a firewall. It keeps track of the PC’s outgoing and incoming connections. The firewall will ask if you want to accept certain connections.

The firewall, in most cases, assesses whether or not a connection is safe.

However, Windows Firewall might sometimes make a mistake and block a connection that is not hazardous. This is extremely aggravating when it occurs without your notice.

An RTC connecting and No Route error might be caused by your firewall preventing your computer from establishing a steady connection to the Discord servers. There are, fortunately, workarounds. Check out this article on Six Solutions: Discord Overlay Not Working.

You may need to change your Windows Firewall settings to enable outbound connections for Discord. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Go to the Start Menu and look for Windows Defender Firewall.

  1. A control panel will appear. Select Allow an app or feature via Windows Defender Firewall on the left side of the window.

  1. A large list of programs will appear in the new window. Scroll down to Discord and check both the Private and Public boxes before pressing OK (If the boxes are greyed out, click on the Change settings button).
  2. If Discord isn’t listed here, choose Allow another app…
  3. Select the Discord.exe executable from the Browse menu. This is placed by default at C:UsersYOUR USER NAMEAppDataLocalDiscordapp-0.0.309.
  4. After adding the program to the list, repeat Step 3 and hit OK to exit the Windows Firewall settings.

You should have successfully allowed Discord to build a stable connection with the servers by modifying the firewall settings. Hopefully, you’ll not have any more issues!

RTC Connecting and No Route failures are two of Discord’s most irritating problems. If you try the five remedies described above, you should be able to simply eliminate these issues.
